Eastern Tiger Swallowtail

It's been a disappointing year for butterflies. I don't know if it's because of all the ice and snow we got this past winter or if it has something to do with all the rain we've had. My butterfly bushes are all blooming and on sunny days they are usually full of butterflies and hummingbird moths. I've seen a few butterflies and this female Tiger Swallowtail was the first. She posed so nicely for me.

Very pretty! I haven't seen many butterflies this year either.

We've also noticed the shortage of butterflies this year. Your got a great picture of this one, however.

I've seen lots of white butterflies and hummingbird moths, but only a few of the swallowtails and the monarchs. I've also not seen many hummingbirds.
